Shake the Dust

For those without food....
Shake the Dust
For those without money or shelter....
Shake the Dust
For those without a dream....
Shake the Dust
This is for those who feel alone,
This is for those who make mistakes,
This is for those who fall down and don't get back up....
Shake the Dust
For those who are picked last....
Shake the Dust
For those who don't understand....
Shake the Dust
And for those who lie awake at night wondering what if...
Shake the Dust
So grab this world by it's clothespins and shake it out again and again and jump on top and take it for a spin, and when you hop off, shake it again for this.... Is yours!

Alone.....

Have you ever felt alone? I know that I have. I don't usually feel alone but for reasons I will explain later, I feel as if I am on a stranded island of mixed emotions. Have you ever had a best friend? Someone that is so close to you that they know what your thinking even before you do? Someone so close that you can go to them with anything and they will still accept you? In a way, that friend is a personal Savior to you when no one else is there. Well my best friend in the entire world, (David Tuttle) leaves on his mission tomorrow.. I know I sound like a girl when I say this but I'm going to cry.... I really am... I get emotional just thinking about it right now.... He is very unique in the way that he is exactly like me, but only a few years older. We met my sophomore year through his girlfriend at the time. (Stephanie King) We have been best friends ever since.
Sometimes I wish people knew me better... I am perceived to be a baseball player who thinks he is all that... But that's not me at all. I wish that people really knew me like David does. I wish people knew I was someone who loves to just sit and talk and laugh and get into deep conversations. Someone who is really competitive. I wish that people knew that I care deeply about my friends and hold their well being in front of my own... Like  said earlier, I am really feeling alone.. My parents don't see it because I hold back the tears or put on a face of happiness sometimes. I put on a face at school like everything is okay, but in reality I am alone, and struggling.... My best friend in the whole world, one of the saviors in my life is leaving for two years. And I am here... I know what he is doing is right so don't get me wrong when I am sulking in my own self pity, I still know what he is doing is the right thing... But here I am reaching out, all alone hoping that someone will take a chance on a kid. Just to reach out and be a savior to a kid who feels alone...

Late again...(when will I ever learn)

Have your parents ever given you a curfew? Are you always on time.... Yeah me neither.. Unfortunately I was over an hour late on my curfew last night... 1:00 am......Yeah not a good thing...You would think I would have learned by now, but i guess not.. Although I have a feeling that I will learn my lesson this time. My car has been taken for a week.... bummer.... Oh well, what I am really sorry for is making my date late last night.. She lives in south Jordan, so it takes a bit to get out there from Orem. I was completely in the wrong for making her late, so to her.... I am extremely sorry for making you late Kait! I will definitely not be late from now on! Sorry ma, sorry dad. Anyways this will be a long week....

Grandparents (Got to love them)

Have you ever had a best friend? Well I have... My best friend in the entire world was my Grandpa Taylor. On July 15, 2008 I lost a Grandpa, mentor, example and friend. Seeing him leave this world and leaving his sweetheart behind was very hard for all of my family. To this day my Grandmother still lives. Its almost heart breaking to see how much she misses him. For the past two days, my sweet grandmother has been staying with us. Last night I came to the reality of how much she really misses him. I walked up stairs to grab a bite to eat right before bed, as I passed the room my grandmother was staying in I heard her talking. Without her knowing I quietly put my ear up to the door and just listened to her talk. (In the beginning I thought she was talking to herself.) But in reality she was talking to the one who means the most to her. MY GRANDFATHER. She kept speaking as if he was laying right next to her. Tears filled my eyes and for the first time I really understood what loving someone fully meant. She LOVES him!! I look up to my grandmother in many ways. But one thing she taught me, and one thing she is the perfect example of is love. And how to keep enduring to the end. And for that example that she has always set for me, I will be forever grateful!

I love you Grandma, and I know that Grandpa loves you too! Never forget that he is always here for you and that he is watching over his sweetheart everyday!  I love you!

I'm Thinking about you

I'm thinkin about you! I'm thinkin about you like water thinks about wet. Like sand thinks about the beech. Like music thinks about its beat. I'm thinkin about you. I'm thinkin about you like a husband thinks about his wife. Like the wind thinks about a kite. Like the storm thinks about the nights sky. I'm thinkin about you like the earth thinks about the moon. Like the stars think about shining...Bright! I'm thinkin about you. I'm thinkin about you like school on a summer day. Like the sun on a winter's day. I'm thinkin about you like bubbles think about a bath. Like kids that like to laugh. Like a heart broken in half. I'm thinkin about you like a blanket thinks about warmth. I'm thinkin about you!

Perfect love

Perfect love encompasses all things. It shows mercy but meets justice. It extends to all but despises evil. It's kindness, respectfulness, it does not deceive. It sees the greatness in things rather than the downfall. It builds the spirit, mind and body. It drives us to do things beyond our reach. In the atonement sense it fills gaps we could never fill. Love shows us understanding for what some people go through. It allows compassion to grow and power over all evil. Love heals wounds that otherwise would last eternity. Perfect love is not boasting prideful or revengeful. It does not hold things against you. It is humble, pure and recognizes that everyone has faults. To help those in need. It is service to others with nothing in return. Perfect love is joy and happiness! Perfect love dwells within god, and if we dwell in love, then we dwell in god. True love is no longer true love in my eyes.... I call it perfect love.

It's just..... Me

Hey guys its me, Dustin. I am signing on for the first time, on my new blog!!! I am very excited to get started, and for you guys to get to know me! I am the oldest of six. I have one brother and four sisters. Very exciting I know.  Anyways I have many things that I would like you guys to know about me. Here are some of them....

-I love to shoot hoops with my friends
-I love to sing at the top of my lungs in the shower. (not sure if its good singing but none the less I love it!)
-I enjoy spending time with my family and playing with my puppy!
-I am very athletic and very competitive.

Anyways that is what you need to know about me for now.

Alright, along with those things about me, I also love to write. Meaning I am definitely stoked to start this blog. I took creative writing for a few reasons.

1. I felt like I would do well in a creative writing class. ( I feel very comfortable sharing my opinions through writing)
2. I felt like I am week in some areas of writing, such as vocabulary. I really hope to broaden my horizons when it comes to vocab.
3. I took a class with Mr. Nelson my sophomore year, and he was a good teacher. He taught me something that I will never forget. And that is to take risks. He helped me branch out and be more outgoing. So hopefully through all the goofiness and messing around he can teach me something new about myself again.

Anyways I got to go so that's all I have for now.
See ya later.
